  • No. WYM is proudly independently owned and operated by Where You Meet PTY LTD.

    While we are located within a council owned site, we operate as a separate business entity. We work alongside the City of Greater Geelong and the wonderful team at the Geelong Botanic Gardens to ensure a seamless experience for visitors to the gardens and our guests alike.

  • WYM is ‘Where You Meet’

  • Early on, we were looking up synonyms for ‘whimsical’, ‘treasure trove’, ‘gathering place’, ‘meet up’ etc. Everything that this little gem of a place represented.

    ‘WYM’ seemed to encapsulate all of these things!

    We changed ‘whim’ spelling to not only look groovy (with the unbalanced symmetry that is just so satisfying to look at), but also to suit the name of Where You Meet. It has a unique, quirky perfection to it – just the vibe we want to portray.

  • Picture saying 'WYM' as if you're deciding things ‘on a whim' — a whimsical and spontaneous act. The pronunciation itself mirrors this whimsy, creating a playful and unpredictable verbal twist!

  • You will find free all day parking throughout Eastern Park, just steps from the gardens.

    On busy days, arriving a little earlier makes for a relaxed start.

  • We are tucked inside the Botanic Gardens of Eastern Park.

    Enter the Gardens on foot via the main gates at the corner of Podbury Drive and Eastern Park Circuit. From there, stroll through the Gardens for around three minutes. You can take either path, left or right, both meet again at the second archway gate. Head through there and you will see WYM on your right across the lawn.

  • Yes. The gardens and venue are gently sloped and accessible.

    If you are booking with a wheelchair, please request Table 7 in your booking notes. It is our most spacious and comfortable position.

    Accessible parking bays are located directly beside the main gates, and our toilet facilities are also accessible.

  • Yes, we do take bookings and we would love to have you.

    You can reserve a table up until 8am on the day of your visit. After that, our internet takes its sweet time and we are unable to update availability. That said, we always keep space for walk-ins and adore the spontaneous drop-ins.

    If you are dreaming of something off-site, keep your eyes peeled. Something with wheels is quietly in the works.

  • We are a tiny little cafe with a limited capacity, which is part of our charm.

    Online bookings are capped at 9 guests to help us manage the space comfortably for everyone. We can often accommodate groups of up to 15, however we do have to double check the day before confirming. Please fill out the form for “10 or more guests”, and please note groups of this size are required to book our shared Feed Me Grazing experience so we can prepare and serve you properly.

    If you are celebrating something special, get in touch. We love making it work where we can.

  • During busy periods, we may gently apply a 90 minute seating time to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy the space.

    We do this to balance bookings and walk ins fairly. If the pace is slower, we are more than happy for you to stay and savour the moment.

  • If you cannot secure your preferred time, it likely means those tables have been snapped up.

    We intentionally keep some availability for walk ins, so please still come by. If you arrive and we are full, we will happily take your name and number. You are welcome to wander and enjoy the beautiful surrounds - we will give you a buzz as soon as a table frees up!

    Occasionally our facilities are reserved for a private function. When that happens, we will always still be serving takeaway coffees, toasties and cabinet treats.

    For clarity around specific dates, message us on social media or email events@whereyoumeet.com.au. Calling the venue is unfortunately not always helpful, as our limited internet prevents staff from checking live booking information.

  • Yes, and it is one of our favourite things to do.

    WYM was made for connection and celebration. We host intimate functions featuring our signature grazing boards, locally made sweets, and beautiful artisan cheeses. Whether it is a birthday, baby shower, recovery brunch or long overdue gathering, we are here for it.

  • Of course. We can split bills up to four ways.

    This helps us serve everyone efficiently, especially during busy periods. We appreciate your understanding.

  • Absolutely.

    While we kindly ask that no outside food is consumed at our tables, we know a birthday or milestone calls for cake. You’re welcome to bring one along! We just apply a $2pp cakeage fee to cover service, plates, and clean-up, so the celebration stays fuss-free for you.

  • Absolutely! We have a variety of delicious options for our vegetarian and vegan friends.

  • Yes, we do! Both the sweeties and savouries, including our Feed Me Grazing experience.

    A heads-up: while we're vigilant about gluten, with trusty tools, like special boards, tongs, gloves and parchment paper, cross-contamination may occur.

    If you are coeliac, please let us know - even for coffee as some of our milks contain gluten.

  • Full Cream
    From ‘Riverina’, we use their Gold selection, as well as ‘St. David’s’ Premium selection. These milks are specially crafted for coffee - delivering a rich, creamy mouthfeel.

    Skim Milk
    Low-fat goodness with a light, refreshing taste. Perfect for those seeking a leaner dairy choice.

    Lactose-Free
    A creamy, easy-to-digest option that lets you enjoy dairy without the discomfort.

    Soy Milk

    A lusciously creamy and plant-based alternative, rich in nutrients with a delightfully mild flavour.

    Proudly local and bee-friendly! Sourced from Northwestern Victoria, our plant-based wonder is 98% local goodness. Cheers to a creamy sip that supports both taste and bees!

  • We do!

    Alongside coffee and grazing, we offer a curated drinks list featuring local beers on tap, wines, and garden inspired cocktails and mocktails.

    In the cooler months, settle in under the heaters with a house-made mulled wine.

    As always, responsible service of alcohol applies and guests may be asked to present valid ID.

  • Yes. If you are short on time or simply prefer takeaway and a stroll or picnic, we have you covered with coffee and select food options to enjoy.

    Please Note: We are unable to serve alcohol takeaway.

  • Unfortunately not.

    Between heritage foliage and our tucked away location, even the best tech sometimes struggles to break through. We have tried it all and the connection is patchy at best. You may have slightly better luck stepping away from the building or using your own hotspot, but it can be unpredictable.

    Think of it as your gentle nudge to switch off. Fresh air, savoured sips and real conversations tend to work better here than screens.

  • Keep-cups are our favorites! Don't forget to bring yours, and we'll make your day with a special discount.

  • Most of our seating is outdoors, surrounded by beautiful gardens.
    If it starts to rain, don’t worry – much of the dining area is undercover, and we’ve got heaters to keep things cosy.
    For extra shelter, we also have a few seats inside along the front windows.

  • Yes, indeed! WYM welcomes pets with open paws. Dog water bowls and puppacinos available, just remember to keep them outside, on-lead and be respectful of everyone visiting.

  • You bet! WYM is perfect for kids, offering room to run, high chairs, an open layout for visibility, and comfy, stable chairs for the whole family.
