  • Part Time or Casual | 10 hrs +

    We’ve got room for a part-time chef/cook to join our kitchen team.

    The role leans towards tapas-style plates and event catering, with some café classics in the mix too. If you’re organised, creative, and love being part of a small team, you’ll fit right in.

    Important note: This role is all about daytime and afternoon service. No late nights.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

    • Preparing consistently high-quality tapas, grazing boards, cafe and event-style dishes

    • Assisting with menu development

    • Contributing to catering setups and smooth event service

    • Keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and efficient

    • Helping with ordering, rotation, and reducing food waste

    • Communicating with FOH, BOH & event staff so service runs like clockwork

    • Supporting the team with general café tasks when extra hands are needed

    ABOUT YOU:

    • Weekend availability

    • 2+ years experience as a commercial cook or chef in a cafe (or commercial kitchen)

    • Solid understanding of food safety standards, allergen management, and safe handling practices

    • Proficiency in preparing, cooking, and plating a diverse menu with consistency

    • Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate well

    • A passion for a positive team culture through both FOH and BOH

    • Willingness to learn

    • RSA certificate

    Extras we’d love (but aren’t essential): barista or bar skills, supplier knowledge, and good banter.

  • Casual | 10+ hours

    We’re looking for a skilled barista to join our team!

    This role is all about high-quality coffee in a fast-paced café environment. Think up to 1kg per hour solo during peak. If you thrive under pressure, take pride in your craft, and enjoy being part of a tight-knit team, you’ll fit right in.

    Important note: Wednesday availability is essential. Full time available for the right candidate.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
    Producing consistently high-quality coffee across all service periods
    Managing high-volume service with confidence and efficiency
    Dialling in, maintaining, and adjusting espresso for optimal quality
    Keeping the coffee station clean, organised, and well-stocked
    Communicating with FOH and team members to keep service running smoothly
    Supporting the team with general café tasks when needed

    ABOUT YOU

    • Experience in a high-volume café environment

    • Ability to handle fast-paced service, including up to 1kg per hour solo

    • Strong attention to detail and consistency in coffee quality

    • Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude

    • Confidence, initiative, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

    • A passion for plants and café culture

    • RSA certificate

    • Full working rights in Australia

    Our main venue is in the Geelong Botanic Gardens where we operate as a café/bar by day, with catering and events adding another layer to what we do.

    We are in the process of growing our WYM community with more locations in the works and potential for staff to move between them.
