Part Time (20 hrs + more during peak season)

We’ve got room for a part-time chef/cook to join our kitchen team.

The role leans towards tapas-style plates and event catering, with some café classics in the mix too. If you’re organised, creative, and love being part of a small team, you’ll fit right in.

Important note: This role is all about daytime and afternoon service. No late nights.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Preparing consistently high-quality tapas, grazing boards, cafe and event-style dishes

• Assisting with menu development

• Contributing to catering setups and smooth event service

• Keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and efficient

• Helping with ordering, rotation, and reducing food waste

• Communicating with FOH, BOH & event staff so service runs like clockwork

• Supporting the team with general café tasks when extra hands are needed

ABOUT YOU:

• Weekend availability

• 2+ years experience as a commercial cook or chef in a cafe (or commercial kitchen)

• Solid understanding of food safety standards, allergen management, and safe handling practices

• Proficiency in preparing, cooking, and plating a diverse menu with consistency

• Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate well

• A passion for a positive team culture through both FOH and BOH

• Willingness to learn

• RSA certificate

Extras we’d love (but aren’t essential): barista or bar skills, supplier knowledge, and good banter.

Part Time (5-20hrs; depending on candidate)

We’re looking for an Events Coordinator to help bring ideas and gatherings to life at WYM.

This is a flexible role, with hours ranging from 5 to 20 per week depending on your experience and availability. From baby showers and birthdays to speed dating and weddings. No two weeks will look the same.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Liaising with clients and guiding them through the booking journey

• Following up after events to ensure a smooth experience

• Brainstorming concepts and sorting logistics

• Working with marketing to promote and support events

• Depending on hours: overseeing operations, managing staff, ordering stock, preparing compliance docs, and shaping packages and pricing

• Supporting the team during events to ensure everything runs seamlessly

ABOUT YOU:

• 2+ years experience in events or a related role

• Calm under pressure, with great problem-solving skills

• Excellent communicator who builds trust easily

• Organised, reliable, and efficient with admin and systems

• Excel enthusiast (you love a good sheet and know how to keep things sharp and accurate)

• Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and timelines

• A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

• RSA certificate

Bonus points if you’ve got staff management experience, a knack for creative event design, strong local connections, or experience in Geelong City’s council policies and procedures.

On top of this, we host events ranging from intimate private gatherings to public ticketed events. Casual (10-15hrs + more during peak times)

We’re on the lookout for FOH crew members to join our team at WYM! Multiple positions are available, starting from around 10 hours per week (with more during peak times).

If you’re friendly, fast on your feet, and love making people feel welcome, we’d love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Delivering warm and efficient table service

• Balancing coffees, aperitifs, and customer care with confidence

• Using Square POS to take orders and manage bills

• Serving alcohol responsibly (RSA essential)

• Supporting smooth transitions between takeaway and dine-in service

• Helping the team wherever needed to keep service flowing

ABOUT YOU:

• Weekend availability

• Table service experience (3-plate carry, balancing bookings with walk-ins, etc)

• Ability to promptly identify customer needs and up-sell/cross-sell

• Strong multitasker who stays calm under pressure

• Friendly, approachable, and confident with customers

• Basic knowledge of coffee, wine, beer, and simple cocktails

• A team player who enjoys working in a close-knit crew

• RSA certificate (essential)
