There is a position open for a casual barista to join our team!

At WYM, as a barista you will be responsible for producing high quality coffee and beverages with every pour, whilst helping out the team as needed with the rest of the operations.

Weekend availability required, with increased hours expected as the weather warms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing consistently high-quality coffee and beverages to WYM standards

• Engaging warmly with guests (genuine, attentive, and friendly service)

• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming café environment

• Following food safety and OH&S procedures

• Setting up & packing down café stations efficiently

• Communicating clearly with team members always

• Assisting with stock rotation, restocking and daily prep tasks

• Supporting smooth service flow across both takeaway & dine-in

• Assisting with other cafe operations as required

• Representing WYM's values on a daily basis

• Maintaining a clean, organised & efficient kitchen

• Upholding food safety and OH&S procedures

• Setting up & cleaning down kitchen thoroughly and efficiently

• Communicating clearly with FOH & BOH team members always

• Assisting with stock rotation, ordering & restocking, minimising food wastage

• Supporting smooth service flow across both takeaway & dine-in

• Assisting with other cafe operations as required

• Representing WYM's values on a daily basis

ABOUT YOU:

• 2+ years experience as a commercial cook or chef in a cafe (or commercial kitchen)

• Solid understanding of food safety standards, allergen management, and safe handling practices

• Proficiency in preparing, cooking, and plating a diverse menu with consistency

• Ability to stay calm under pressure

• Strong communication

• A passion for a positive team culture through both FOH and BOH

• Willingness to learn

• RSA certificate
